CARD ALERTS & CONTROLS
- Check Your Alerts & Control Preferences
When you log in and select the Card Alerts & Controls feature, select Alerts & Control Preferences below the card in question.
You have 3 different ways to receive Card Alerts: All, Preferred, or Blocked. You will need to choose what suits your needs.
-Do you want to receive alerts for ALL transactions?
You will get the most alerts from Card Alerts & Controls if your preferences are set to ALL transactions.
- Depending on the merchant, you will receive up to 3 real-time alerts per transaction – one that is authorized, pending, and posted to your account history from Card Alerts & Controls.
-Do you want to receive alerts for PREFERRED transactions?
You will reduce the amount of card alerts by selecting your preferred alerts.
- You will need to customize your preferred alert types by navigating to Merchant Type, Transaction Type, and Location Type preferences.
- Visit each of the preferences and toggle YES for each of your preferred alert types.
-Do you want to receive alerts for BLOCKED transactions only?
If you select to send alerts for BLOCKED transactions only, you will block ALL card transaction alerts made on your account. You will need to customize what types of alerts you want to receive by visiting Merchant Type, Transaction Type, Location Type, and Spend Limits and customize what transactions you wish to block.
You can only receive an alert if you have set the type of card transaction as Block Transaction.
2. Check Your Alert Delivery Options
Are you getting the same alert delivered to multiple places?
Card Alerts & Controls will deliver alerts by Push Notification, SMS Text Alerts, and your email address.
- Visit Alert Delivery Options in your Card Alerts & Controls feature.
- Toggle ON or OFF your preferred delivery option.
- Use the Do Not Disturb feature to only send alerts during your unique, preferred time.
ACCOUNT ALERTS & NOTIFICATIONS
Account Alerts & Notifications will send ANY transaction posted to your account history by Push Notification, email, and/or SMS Text Message, depending on the account alerts you have set on your account.
To visit Alerts & Notifications in your online banking account, navigate to Notifications in the top right menu and select Settings to manage SMS and email account alerts.
It's important that you go ahead remove any alert types that you do not want to receive by hovering over the alert type and selecting 'remove'.
Check on your Large Withdraw and Large Deposit customized amount thresholds, if you have any set. Since Alerts & Notifications will send an alert to you for ANY transaction within your customized threshold on your account history, you may be receiving what appears to be a duplicate alert from a card transaction. If you have a Large Withdraw alert set and you're receiving a duplicate alert, it's likely that your card transaction met the threshold of of the Large Withdraw alert.
Account Alerts & Notifications are not real-time, so alert types such as Large Withdraw and Large Deposit alerts will come to you once a card transaction, ACH, or check posts to the account.
What do you consider a large expense based on your preferences and account activity?
You can adjust your amount threshold by entering in your standard threshold amount for each Large Withdraw or Large Deposit alert you have set, for each of your account types. It may be too low if you are making multiple transactions over $100, for example.
Check your Account Alerts & Notifications Alert Delivery Options
- Do you want an email and/or/both SMS text message for your Large Withdraw or Large Deposit alerts? You can check or uncheck the envelope box for email or the blurb icon for SMS text.
- Do you want to receive Push Notifications for Large Withdraw or Large Deposits?
Check your Push Notification preferences in the app by visiting the Settings gear icon in the top right corner and select Push Notifications.
Look at the Large Withdraw and Large Deposit push notifications and either toggle OFF or edit the amount threshold by selecting the amount hyperlink in blue.
MONEY MANAGEMENT NOTIFICATIONS
If you have visited our full financial picture Money Management tool, Money Management helps you manage your accounts by notifying you of your Budgets and Accounts by email and/or SMS text. These alerts are set for you out-of-the box, unless you decide to adjust them based on your preferences.
Account alerts from Money Management are much like Account Alerts & Notifications and send Large Expense and Large Deposit alerts to you once ANY transaction (ie. card, ACH, check) posts to your account history.
Check your Money Management Notification Preference Types
Let us look at Money Management notification settings by visiting Money Management in your online & mobile banking account on the menu. Visit the Bell icon in the top right navigation of the Money Management feature.
You will then select the Gear icon to customize your Money Management notification Settings.
Toggle OFF any alert types you do not want.
You will then want to either edit your Large Expense or Large Deposit withdraw, or toggle OFF these two alert types.
It is recommended that you either have these two alert types set in Account Alerts & Notifications OR have these set in Money Management to reduce the amount of alerts you’re receiving per transaction that meets your set threshold.
Check your Money Management Alert Delivery Preferences
Do you prefer email and/or/both SMS Text Message alerts from Money Management?
To adjust your alert delivery preferences in Money Management, you can remove or email/mobile number based on where you prefer to receive your Money Management alerts. If you only want an email for your Balance Update, for example, remove your mobile number.
Alert delivery preferences in Money Management are set based on the all of your accounts in the Money Management feature, and not the alert type.
